  1. After the original VEDIT hit the pages of BYTE magazine in 1980 it became the
  2. #1 programmer's editor virtually overnight.  In January 1982, VEDIT was the
  3. first editor available for the revolutionary IBM PC.  Since then, tens of
  4. thousands of programmers, engineers and writers have been enthusiastic users
  5. of VEDIT and its successor VEDIT PLUS.

  7. In 1988 we introduced VEDIT PLUS version 3.0 which was a total rewrite of the
  8. editor to give it a modern user interface with pull-down menus and context

  52. edit up to 36 files at the same time.  The screen can be split into windows
  53. for viewing multiple files or different parts of one file.  Any window can be

  55. with regular expressions.

  75. VEDIT PLUS will also run under VEDIT.  This is convenient in organizations
  76. where VEDIT PLUS users can write custom macros for the VEDIT users.

  79. keyboard layout and select numerous default settings to configure any VEDIT
  80. Family editor to your particular hardware, applications and personal
  81. preferences.  By using the available options and "keystroke macros", you can
  82. very closely emulate other editors and word processors.

  84. An easy to use installation program for the IBM PC permits a quick, menu
  85. driven selection of the most common configurations of VEDIT.  This includes
  86. selecting from the recommended keyboard layout or from a Brief, WordStar or
  87. Word Perfect layout.  (The Installation program is not included on this Demo
  88. disk.)

  90. The VEDIT Family editors support the IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2 and clones with CGA,
  91. MGA, EGA, VGA, Wyse 700 and other displays.  The IBM PC version also supports
  92. Microsoft Windows, DESQview, Concurrent DOS, PC-MOS/386 and most networks.

  94. A generic MS-DOS version runs on non-IBM type computers and on CRT terminals
  95. connected to an IBM PC via serial lines and modems.

  97. The UNIX/XENIX version supports most variations of UNIX running on Intel
  98. 80286/80386/80486 processors.

  103. version of VEDIT.  VEDIT PLUS is available as an option and includes
